The plan for this trip is to plan as little as possible and still make it across the country alive. I just recently finished planning my route and the directions take up 9.5 pages of a word document. I have gotten most of my gear together and just have a few last minute things to pick up. I really don't have an itinerary except to make it back to Merrimack before graduation on June 17th.
This trip will cover approximately 4000 miles along a mainly northern route. The map below shows a rough outline of where I expect to be riding. I plan on riding an average of 60-70 miles per day for the entire trip. The only places that I know for sure I will be stopping at are Niagara Falls and Yellowstone National Park. I am hoping to set up at least a few places along the route that I can have items shipped to. This is a completely self sustained tour, so whatever I need for the entire trip will be brought along on the bike.
Due to time constraints, I won't be able to ride back home and will most likely be flying back. The bike will probably be shipped home via UPS.
